The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has clarified that it is not associated with the recent actions of a dismissed staff member, Olakunle Alex Folarin, who appeared on an online matchmaking programme hosted by entertainer Lege Miami.

Folarin, who featured on Lege Miami’s TikTok live dating platform, drew public attention after viewers identified him as an EFCC “officer.”

In response, the Commission emphasized that Folarin is no longer in its service, noting that he had been dismissed for undisclosed reasons prior to the incident. EFCC further stressed that the agency should not be linked to the personal activities of individuals who are no longer on its payroll.

The anti-graft body assured Nigerians that it remains focused on its mandate of combating financial and economic crimes, urging the public to disregard any misleading claims tying it to the actions of former staff.
