NAF Airstrikes, Ground Troops Eliminate Over 100 Terrorists in Zamfara

By Nigeria TV Info — August 11, 2025

The Nigerian Military has neutralised more than 100 terrorists in a massive operation combining coordinated airstrikes and ground assaults in Makakkari Forest, Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The offensive, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, began with the thunderous roar of military aircraft pounding terrorist hideouts, followed by the relentless advance of ground troops who stormed the forest. By the end of the mission, over 100 bandits lay dead, dozens of their motorcycles were reduced to smouldering wrecks, and their stronghold was in ruins.

According to security expert Zagazola Makama, the operation — codenamed Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) — had been in the works for weeks. Intelligence operatives tracked unusual terrorist movements across the Sunke, Kirsa, and Barukushe axis, all known havens for bandit groups.

Military sources say the precision airstrikes crippled the terrorists’ escape routes, allowing ground forces to move in swiftly for clearance operations. This coordinated approach is part of renewed efforts to dismantle bandit networks and restore peace to Zamfara and other parts of the Northwest plagued by violent crime
