Housing Crisis Looms as Rent Skyrockets in FCT

Category: News |
📺 Nigeria TV Info – Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are crying out over the escalating cost of house rents, which many describe as unbearable. In interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a number of residents lamented that skyrocketing rent prices across Abuja and its districts are driving them to the brink of homelessness. They revealed that many families are being forced to vacate their homes and relocate to underdeveloped outskirts with poor infrastructure, limited services, and heightened risks of violence and insecurity. The residents are now appealing to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the Federal Government to urgently intervene and introduce strict regulatory measures to stabilize the housing sector and prevent further displacement of low- and middle-income earners.
