Iran Rejects Trump’s Comments, Says Foreigners Cannot Dictate Its Affairs

The Iranian government has responded strongly to remarks attributed to former United States president, Donald Trump, insisting that no foreign power has the authority to determine the internal affairs of the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s ambassador to an international forum stated that the country remains committed to defending its sovereignty and independence, emphasizing that decisions concerning Iran will always be made by its own leadership and people. According to the envoy, attempts by foreign leaders to interfere in Iran’s political or strategic direction are unacceptable and violate international norms.

The response comes after comments from Trump criticizing Iran’s policies and suggesting stronger pressure on the Middle Eastern nation. Iranian officials interpreted the remarks as another attempt by Washington to influence Tehran’s domestic and foreign policy decisions.

The envoy stressed that Iran has historically resisted external pressure and sanctions, maintaining that the country’s political system and national interests are not subject to foreign approval. He added that Iran values diplomatic engagement but will not tolerate what it described as “interference” from other nations.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington have remained strained for years, particularly since the United States withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action during Trump’s administration. Iranian officials say such moves have contributed to distrust and instability in diplomatic relations.

Despite the tensions, Iran says it remains open to respectful dialogue with the international community, provided its sovereignty and national dignity are fully respected.
