Kwara Under Siege as Bandits Abduct Four Rice Farmers in Fresh Attack

Barely 24 hours after the deadly attack on Eruku town, another bandit assault has shaken Kwara State, with four rice farmers kidnapped in Bokungi village, Edu Local Government Area.

The latest incident occurred on Wednesday evening between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., while the farmers were busy working on their farmlands.

According to community sources, the attackers struck in a coordinated operation. In the first raid, two farmers were abducted while packaging their harvested rice. Moments later, another group of gunmen invaded a nearby farm and kidnapped two more individuals, bringing the total number of victims to four.

Residents say the bandits stormed the farms and began shooting sporadically, causing workers to flee for safety before the four victims were captured.

The coordinated nature of the attack has heightened fear and tension in the community, with locals worried about escalating insecurity in the area.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement, and efforts to secure the release of the abducted farmers are ongoing.
