Nigeria TV Info â INEC Records Over 6.8 Million Registrations in Ongoing Voter Exercise
Abuja, Nigeria â The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the ongoing online Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise has recorded a total of 6,856,979 registrations so far.
In a detailed breakdown released on Friday, the Commission disclosed that females constitute 3,581,562 (52.23%) of the total figure, while males account for 3,275,417 (47.77%). INEC further noted that youths between the ages of 18 and 34 years make up 4,689,663 of the total registrants, while students account for 1,728,384, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) stand at 154,479.
According to the Commission, the total number of completed online and physical registrations within the last six weeks has reached 1,216,048.
A further breakdown shows that completed online pre-registration stands at 658,766, while physical registration amounts to 557,282. Among these, females represent 675,222 (55.53%), males 540,826 (44.47%), youths (18â34 years) 897,676, students 424,126, and PWDs 17,450.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring an inclusive, transparent, and credible voter registration process ahead of future elections.
