The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) held an emergency security meeting over rising cases of unruly passenger behavior. The authority stressed that disruptive actions onboard pose serious risks to flight safety.

Following the meeting, the NCAA announced a new directive: all passengers must completely switch off electronic devices during flights – even airplane mode is no longer allowed.

Officials explained that device signals may interfere with aircraft communication and navigation systems. The rule also aims to reduce inflight incidents and ensure safe, smooth travel.

The NCAA warned that violating these rules will attract strict penalties and sanctions.
