Trump Claims Iranian Supreme Leader, 40 Top Officials Killed in US-Israel Airstrikes
United States President, Donald Trump, on Saturday confirmed that Iranâs Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and 40 top Iranian military and civilian leaders were killed following coordinated airstrikes launched by the United States and Israel against Iran.
According to President Trump, the strikes specifically targeted high-ranking members of Iranâs leadership structure, including senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He further claimed that surviving members of the IRGC were seeking immunity from the United States in the aftermath of the attacks.
The large-scale offensive reportedly marked one of the most significant military escalations in the Middle East in recent years. Earlier on Saturday, US and Israeli forces carried out extensive bombardments across key Iranian positions.
In a direct message to the Iranian public, President Trump urged citizens to âseize control of your destinyâ by rising against the Islamic leadership that has governed the country since 1979, signaling open support for regime change in Tehran.
Iran Retaliates Across the Middle East
In swift retaliation, Iran reportedly launched strikes targeting countries hosting US military bases or regarded as American allies in the region. The affected nations include Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Syria, among others.
Military analysts note that the United States maintains approximately 13 military bases across the Middle East, with an estimated 30,000 to 40,000 troops typically deployed within the region.
Global news agency Reuters reported that the escalating hostilities forced the shutdown of significant portions of Middle Eastern airspace, causing disruptions to international flights and raising fears of broader global economic and security consequences.
As tensions continue to mount, the international community is closely monitoring developments amid growing concerns that the conflict could expand into a full-scale regional war with far-reaching global implications.
