Nigeria TV Info — Morocco, Safran Partner to Boost Aerospace Industry with New Aircraft Engine Complex
Casablanca, Morocco — Morocco has taken another major leap in its rapidly expanding aerospace industry as King Mohammed VI and Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan led the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a new aircraft engine complex by France’s Safran Group in Nouaceur, near Casablanca.
The upcoming Safran engine facility, which will be part of the Midparc aerospace platform, is set to include assembly and testing centers for aircraft engines, as well as a specialized maintenance unit for Safran’s advanced LEAP engine models — the same technology powering modern airliners worldwide.
Morocco’s Minister of Industry, Ryad Mezzour, hailed the project as a landmark achievement that reinforces Morocco’s status as a global hub for high-tech and aerospace industries. He credited the nation’s success to King Mohammed VI’s industrial reforms and technical training initiatives, which have continued to attract international investors.
> “This is a milestone that cements Morocco’s position among the world’s top destinations for advanced manufacturing and innovation,” Mezzour said.
Safran’s Chairman, Ross McInnes, expressed deep appreciation for the royal support, describing the King’s involvement as a testament to Morocco’s growing importance in the global aerospace supply chain.
“We are honoured by the participation of His Majesty the King, which underscores Morocco’s strategic role in global aviation,” McInnes stated.
He further revealed that the new facility will include a maintenance workshop under a memorandum of understanding signed on Tuesday, expanding Safran’s long-term partnership with Morocco and creating new jobs and skill development opportunities across the region.
With this latest investment, Morocco continues to strengthen its reputation as North Africa’s leading aerospace hub, positioning itself at the forefront of aviation manufacturing and innovation on the continent.
