Nigeria TV Info – NIMC Captures 123 Million Nigerians in National Identity Database

No fewer than 123 million Nigerians have been successfully enrolled in the National Identity database with their National Identity Numbers (NIN), according to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The Director General/CEO of NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, disclosed this on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, during the 7th National Day of Identity organised by the Commission.

Coker-Odusote further revealed that 52 percent of Nigerians in the diaspora have been captured in the database, adding that 85 percent of inmates in Nigeria’s Correctional Centres have also been enrolled.

The DG emphasized that the continuous expansion of the identity database is crucial to national planning, security, and access to social services.
