Nnamdi Kanu Petitions NBA, Seeks Sanctions Against Judges Over Alleged Misconduct

The Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has petitioned the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), demanding disciplinary action against three senior judges over what he described as gross judicial misconduct.

In his petition, Kanu specifically named Justices Binta Nyako, Haruna Tsammani, and Garba Lawal, accusing them of allegedly subverting the course of justice in his ongoing legal battles with the Federal Government.

Kanu alleged that the judges acted in ways that undermine judicial integrity and violate his constitutional rights to fair hearing and justice. He urged the NBA to urgently investigate the matter and impose appropriate sanctions against the justices involved.

The development comes amid heightened legal and political tensions surrounding Kanu’s prolonged detention and trial, which has continued to attract both local and international attention.

As of the time of filing this report, the NBA has yet to issue an official response to the petition.
