Trump Secures US 10% Stake in Intel

Chipmaking giant Intel has agreed to hand the United States government a 10-percent stake in its business, the company and President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday.

The deal follows weeks of negotiations after Trump’s administration insisted that Intel provide Washington with an equity stake in return for billions of dollars in grants earlier committed under former President Joe Biden’s administration to boost domestic semiconductor production.

Intel said the agreement would strengthen its partnership with the federal government while ensuring continued investment in advanced chip manufacturing across the country.

President Trump hailed the deal as a “historic move” to safeguard America’s technological future and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.

The U.S. government’s equity holding marks one of the largest direct stakes in a private technology company in recent history, underscoring Washington’s strategic push to dominate the global semiconductor industry.
