Trump and Putin Meet in Alaska – Big Show, Little Result

Category: News |

On August 15, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Alaska. The red-carpet welcome and military displays were impressive, but the hours of talks brought no breakthrough.

There was no ceasefire or peace deal on the Ukraine war. Trump said there is “a good chance for an agreement,” while Putin insisted the conflict’s roots – including NATO expansion – must be addressed.

Analysts say the summit was more a PR victory for Putin than a diplomatic success.
