Nigeria TV Info Reports:
Fear, Displacement Grip Sokoto Communities as Bandit Attacks Escalate
Widespread fear has triggered mass displacements in Tureta and Dange/Shuni Local Government Areas of Sokoto State, as persistent bandit attacks continue to wreak havoc across communities. Hundreds of families have been forced to abandon their homes in desperation, seeking safety wherever they can.
For months, residents — mostly women and children — have fled under the cover of night, finding refuge in open spaces, bushes, and beneath trees, too afraid to sleep indoors due to the constant threat of violence.
“I have not entered my house in three months,” said Halima, a displaced mother of four from Tureta.
“Every night, we sleep under a tree. We live in fear, not knowing if the next sound we hear will be the bandits.”
