Army Frees 360 Abductees in Major Operation Against Boko Haram in Borno State
The Nigerian Army has reportedly rescued about 360 people abducted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists during coordinated clearance operations in parts of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.
According to military sources, the rescue followed sustained offensives in terrorist strongholds, where troops engaged insurgents, dismantled hideouts, and safely evacuated captives, including women and children.
Officials say the rescued victims have been handed over to relevant humanitarian and security agencies for medical checks, rehabilitation, and family reunification.
Security authorities described the operation as one of the most successful recent missions against insurgent groups in the region, reaffirming ongoing efforts to restore peace in the Northeast.
The Army also pledged to maintain pressure on terrorist networks operating in the Lake Chad Basin, urging residents to continue supporting intelligence sharing with security forces.
The group linked to the attack, Boko Haram, has been responsible for years of insurgency, kidnappings, and mass displacement across northern Nigeria.
