JAMB Announces 2.2 Million Candidates for 2026 UTME Nationwide

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that no fewer than 2.2 million candidates will sit for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) across Nigeria.

According to the Board, the examination is scheduled to commence on April 16 and will run through April 22, 2026, across about 966 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.

JAMB stated that all preparations have been concluded for a smooth and credible examination process, noting that candidates are expected to print their examination notification slips, which contain vital details such as date, time, and venue.

The Board also confirmed that 23 CBT centres were recently delisted following poor performance during the mock examination, as part of efforts to strengthen examination integrity and improve efficiency.

It further assured that enhanced security measures have been deployed across centres to curb examination malpractice and ensure a seamless CBT experience for all candidates.

JAMB added that special arrangements have been made for candidates living with disabilities through its Equal Opportunity Group to ensure inclusiveness.

The Board urged candidates to strictly adhere to guidelines, warning that any form of malpractice or misconduct will attract severe sanctions.
