ADC Convention: Mark, Atiku, Aregbesola Criticize Tinubu Over Hardship, Insecurity
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention held a dramatic political turn as key opposition figures openly criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over rising economic hardship and worsening insecurity across the country.
Former Senate President David Mark, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola were among the prominent voices at the gathering, where they accused the federal government of failing to address inflation, unemployment, and escalating security challenges.
In their separate remarks, the leaders argued that the current economic policies have deepened poverty levels, especially among low-income households, while insecurity in various regions continues to threaten national stability. They called for urgent policy reforms, stronger governance accountability, and a united opposition front ahead of future elections.
The convention also served as a platform for renewed coalition discussions aimed at presenting a stronger alternative political structure capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Tinubuâs leadership.
President Bola Tinubu has not officially responded to the criticisms as of the time of filing this report.
