One Dead as Gunmen Attack Kwara Community

Panic gripped residents of a Kwara State community on Tuesday night after gunmen launched a deadly attack that left one person dead and several others injured. Witnesses said the assailants, who arrived on motorcycles, opened fire indiscriminately, causing residents to flee their homes for safety.

The victim, identified as a middle-aged man, was reportedly shot at close range and died before help could arrive. The attackers were said to have operated for several minutes before escaping into nearby bushes, raising fears of renewed insecurity in the area.

Security operatives later arrived at the scene and have commenced investigations. The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators. Community leaders have appealed to the government to strengthen security patrols to prevent further attacks.
