Kano Will Benefit From Stronger Federal Collaboration – Abba Yusuf Tells Tinubu

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has said that Kano stands to gain significantly from stronger collaboration with the Federal Government, stressing the need for partnership in infrastructure development, security enhancement, education, healthcare delivery, and economic growth.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja, Governor Yusuf highlighted Kano’s strategic importance as a commercial hub in Northern Nigeria and called for increased federal investment in road networks, rail transportation, power supply, and agricultural value chains. He noted that improved cooperation would accelerate job creation and improve the living standards of residents.

Yusuf also reaffirmed Kano State’s commitment to supporting federal policies aimed at national unity and economic recovery, adding that his administration is ready to work closely with relevant ministries and agencies to ensure effective project implementation. He urged the President to prioritize ongoing federal projects in Kano, including major highways and irrigation schemes, to boost trade and food security.

In response, President Tinubu reportedly assured the Kano governor of the Federal Government’s readiness to collaborate with states for sustainable development, emphasizing that inclusive governance remains key to national progress.
