Nigerian Air Force Strikes Major Terrorist Base in Timbuktu Triangle

Abuja — The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has delivered a significant blow to terrorist elements operating in the Timbuktu Triangle, following a successful air interdiction operation that destroyed a key insurgent base in the area.

The operation, carried out on January 8 under Operation Hadin Kai, targeted terrorist hideouts and logistics facilities at Abbaga Jiri, a location known to be a hub for insurgent activities.

Acting on credible, multi-source intelligence that confirmed the presence of terrorists, structures, and concealed supplies, NAF air assets were deployed for integrated surveillance and precision strikes.

In a statement, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, said the mission was meticulously planned to degrade terrorist capabilities, deny them safe havens, and shape the battlespace in support of advancing ground forces.

This successful strike highlights the NAF’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding national security and intensifying the fight against insurgency in affected regions.
