Iran Says It Is in “Total War” With U.S., Israel and Europe — President Pezeshkian
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that Iran is engaged in what he described as a “total war” with the United States, Israel and European powers, according to remarks published by Iranian state media.
Speaking in comments cited by Israeli media outlets, President Pezeshkian accused Western countries of mounting coordinated efforts to weaken Iran across political, economic, security and diplomatic fronts. He claimed the objective of these actions was to bring Iran “to its knees” and undermine its sovereignty.
The Iranian leader said the current confrontation facing Tehran is more complex than the 1980s Iran-Iraq war, stressing that the pressure now extends beyond conventional battlefields. According to him, Iran is confronting what he described as a multifaceted campaign involving sanctions, political isolation, cyber operations and regional tensions.
Pezeshkian’s remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, ongoing conflicts involving Israel, and strained relations between Iran and Western nations over issues ranging from nuclear development to regional influence and security.
Western governments have repeatedly accused Iran of destabilising the region through its support for allied groups and its missile and nuclear programmes—claims Tehran has consistently denied, insisting its actions are defensive and aimed at protecting national interests.
Analysts say Pezeshkian’s comments reflect growing rhetoric from Tehran as geopolitical pressure intensifies, raising concerns about further escalation and its potential impact on regional and global stability.
