Tinubu Declares War on Insecurity, Says National Security Architecture Will Be Reformed

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to overhauling Nigeria’s security framework, declaring that genuine and lasting peace can only be achieved through comprehensive reforms and decisive action against criminal elements.

Speaking on Sunday in Lokoja at a memorial event held in honour of former Kogi State Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, the President—represented by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris—said the government is fully mobilised to hunt down terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and all subversive groups operating across the country.

According to the President, strengthening national security, restoring peace, and opening economic opportunities for Nigerians remain the top priorities of his administration.

Tinubu emphasised that the recently declared state of emergency on national security is not symbolic but a clear signal of government’s determination to defeat insecurity in all its forms.
