Cardoso, who led Nigeria’s delegation to the global meetings, said the sessions provided an opportunity to highlight the country’s progress and reinforce its commitment to macroeconomic stability, fiscal discipline, and inclusive development.

> “Nigeria’s reform agenda is gaining international recognition. The policy adjustments we’ve made — though challenging — are already creating the framework for sustainable growth and private sector participation,” Cardoso stated.

The CBN Governor disclosed that the Nigerian team held a series of strategic meetings with top global financial institutions, including the IMF, World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and major rating agencies such as Fitch, Moody’s, and Standard & Poor’s. Discussions also involved global investors, fintech leaders, development partners, and central banks from various countries.

In her remarks, Dr. Uzoka-Anite announced that the World Bank has designated Nigeria as a priority country for its new Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Compact, underscoring the confidence of development partners in Nigeria’s reform trajectory and governance improvements.

According to her, this recognition is a testament to the government’s drive to strengthen healthcare systems, expand social protection, and ensure that economic growth translates into better living standards for all Nigerians.

Both officials noted that while global markets remain volatile and growth prospects uncertain, Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda, supported by fiscal and monetary reforms, will continue to anchor the nation’s resilience and long-term prosperit
