NAFDAC Issues Public Alert on Recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour Noodles Over Undeclared Allergens
The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a public alert over the recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour Instant Noodles following the discovery of undeclared milk and egg allergens, which could pose serious health risks to consumers with allergies or food intolerances.
In a statement released under Public Alert No. 041/2025, dated December 18, 2025, NAFDAC disclosed that the recall notice originated from Rappel Conso, Franceâs official food safety authority. According to the agency, laboratory analyses revealed the presence of milk and egg components that were not declared on the product label, violating food safety and consumer protection standards.
NAFDAC stated that the recall affects all batches of Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles with a best-before date of February 6, 2026. The agency added that the country of origin was not specified in the recall notice issued by the French authorities.
The agency warned that individuals with allergies or intolerance to milk or eggs could suffer adverse health reactions if they consume the affected product. Symptoms may range from mild allergic reactions to severe, potentially life-threatening complications.
NAFDAC advised consumers, distributors, and retailers to immediately stop the sale and consumption of the affected product and return any stock to suppliers or points of purchase. Members of the public were also encouraged to report sightings of the recalled product through NAFDACâs official reporting channels.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring that all food products in circulation meet approved safety, quality, and labelling standards.
Nigeria TV Info will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more details emerge.
