Customs Smashes Smuggling Ring, Seizes Firearms, Industrial Drones in Ogun, Ondo

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone ‘A’, Ikeja, has dismantled a transborder smuggling syndicate specializing in trafficking firearms, ammunition, and industrial drones into the country.

The gang, notorious for concealing its contraband in wooden boxes and disguising them with packs of Danu Spaghetti, was ambushed by Customs operatives during coordinated operations in Ogun and Ondo States.

Briefing journalists in Lagos on Tuesday, the Controller of the Unit, Mohammed Shuaibu, revealed that officers intercepted two industrial drones, assorted rifles, and ammunition along bush paths near the Ogun border and the Akure-Ore axis in Ondo State.

Shuaibu praised the swift response of his men, stressing that the bust highlights the Service’s resolve to safeguard Nigeria’s borders against the influx of arms and other prohibited items.
