NELFUND: Students' Loan is Repayable, 760,000 Applications Received
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has clarified that the Federal Government's student education loan is repayable.
In a statement on Sunday, the Fund disclosed that it has so far received over 760,000 applications from students across the country seeking to benefit from the initiative.
NELFUND explained that the loan scheme is designed to support Nigerian students in tertiary institutions and government-recognized vocational centers, with repayment expected after the beneficiaries secure employment.
The agency urged applicants to carefully read the loan terms and conditions, emphasizing that transparency and accountability are key to the scheme's sustainability.
The Federal Government launched the student loan program to promote access to higher education and skill acquisition, especially for indigent students.
