Vice President Kashim Shettima Departs for Guinea and Davos
Abuja â Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of Guinea-Conakryâs President-elect, Mamadi Doumbouya, before proceeding to Davos, Switzerland, for the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
According to a statement from the Office of the Vice President, Shettima will attend the presidential inauguration on Saturday, January 17, at the GLC Stadium in Nongo, Conakry, following President Doumbouyaâs election victory.
The Vice Presidentâs participation is described as a strategic engagement under President Tinubuâs Renewed Hope agenda, aimed at strengthening regional leadership, deepening economic partnerships, and advancing global economic integration.
Nigeriaâs presence at the ceremony also highlights the countryâs leadership within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), particularly in supporting Guineaâs return to constitutional order after a four-year political transition.
