Ibadan, Nigeria — Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to unlocking prosperity, creating jobs, and boosting trade activities with the official launch of the Oyo State African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Sub-National Implementation Strategy.
Speaking at a post-engagement meeting on the implementation of AfCFTA held at the Local Government Service Commission Training School, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the governor described the launch as a major milestone in his government’s sustainable development agenda.
Makinde said Oyo State’s decision to adopt the AfCFTA framework was driven by its vast population, strategic location, and heavy investment in infrastructure development. He explained that the initiative will translate into “massive employment creation, opportunities for entrepreneurs and business owners, and an overall boost in trade volumes.”
