NNPC Links Cooking Gas Price Hike to PENGASSAN Strike

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has attributed the recent surge in cooking gas prices to the ongoing industrial action by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The strike, which has disrupted operations in several gas processing plants, has caused supply shortages nationwide. NNPC noted that production and distribution constraints triggered by the strike have reduced availability and driven retail prices above ₩1,500 per kilogram in major cities. The company appealed to PENGASSAN to suspend the strike and allow ongoing negotiations with the Federal Government to continue, assuring Nigerians that efforts are underway to stabilize supply and bring prices down.
