Three Suicide Bombers Attack Paramilitary Headquarters in Peshawar, Kill Three Officers
Three suicide bombers on Monday launched a deadly assault on the headquarters of a Pakistani paramilitary force in Peshawar, killing three personnel and injuring at least five others in what authorities described as a coordinated and highly violent attack.
Police said the attackers arrived at the complex, located in a densely populated part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwaâs capital, and opened fire as they attempted to breach the facility. The first bomber detonated his explosives at the main entrance, creating a blast that allowed the remaining two attackers to force their way inside before setting off their devices.
Deputy Commandant Javed Iqbal confirmed the casualties, noting that emergency responders had evacuated the injured to nearby hospitals. Security forces immediately launched a sweeping operation around the premises.
A senior security official, who spoke anonymously due to lack of authorisation, warned that more assailants might still be inside the compound.
> âLaw enforcement personnel, including the army and police, have cordoned off the area and are carefully handling the situation as we suspect there are some terrorists inside the headquarters,â the official said.
The attack adds to the rising wave of militant violence targeting security forces across Pakistanâs northwest region. Authorities said clearance operations were ongoing as investigations continue.
